Giulio and Vale’s house is in the hills of Perugia, in a panoramic location and convenient for them. They have been living here since November, after a long time of searching first and then working on it. New, they bought it without internal divisions, because they wanted to decide and design their space, according to their needs.
Before furnishing the small villa, they visited the Salone del Mobile in Milan, a reference point for furnishing and design, which allowed them to gain numerous inspirations. In agreement with the philosophy and the style, and in harmony with the sensibility and taste of both of them, the furniture has an extremely contemporary and clean line.
The colors are neutral: the whites and the beiges are matched to the material consistency of wood and to the transparency of glass. The light grey flooring in porcelain gres, ties it together.
The living area is luminous, thanks to the white walls and the abundant windows that are over the garden and let light enter. Among the elegant leather couches with metal details, the famous Arco lamp made by Castiglioni per Flos stands out majestically, framed by the stairs which connects the living area with the upstairs.
This is lined in light oak wood, with an imperceptible glass railing which communicates perfectly with the beautiful table with wooden legs and glass top. Here the large window brings us to the awning which extends the living area to the outside, to the garden among the olive trees.
In the kitchen as well, the countertops and surfaces alternate between whites and gunmetal, in a functional and spacious area. The stovetop and the sink are on the island, next to the lunch table in laminate. The cabinet space is very extensive and beyond the container area and the ovens, holds a wine fridge.
Though the space is functional, it is made luminous by the two-paneled glass door. In the evening the room is lit by the now fashionable Parentesi di Flos and the light play with the false ceiling.
Even for the bathrooms and the bedrooms, neutral colors were used. From above the stairs bring the wood to the flooring, to give warmth and comfort.
NOTE TO THE CURIOUS
Giulio and Vale both like transparency. Besides the beautiful glass doors with a garden view, the railing of the stairs is made of glass, the table top in the living room in glass, in the kitchen there are glass details in the cabinetry.
And not only, we found objects here and there which are completely transparent.
All of these glassy and heavenly elements are connected to something earthly and material, like the wood and the marble of the small table in the living room.
