In which location in the Tiber River Valley would you like to be photographed?
«The plaster cast gallery of Caprese Michelangelo».
We took the pictures here and we asked Irene some questions.
In the fall we will see you in the fiction on Rai Uno «Il Confine», it has been presented as one of the fictions of prime time TV, what is it about?
«The fiction is a film in two episodes made for RAI and it is a modern, contemporary love story, and if you see it you will understand why, as it has to do with the tragic consequences of the first World War».
What is your role?
«I am a Red Cross worker, friend and colleague of the protagonist, a bit inexperienced and fearful».
Tell us a little bit about the filming: where did you film it and how did you get on with the rest of the cast?
«We filmed in Friuli-Venezia Giulia: Gorizia, Cormons, Trieste, Udine and Venzone. I don’t usually have any problems with my colleagues, but this cast was mostly made up of young emerging actors, and for this reason it was easy to establish a good feeling with them. There were great names from Italian theatre and cinema like Massimo Popolizio and Stefano Dionisi, but even with them a team atmosphere was created in no time at all».
And that’s not all: your face will appear in an episode of «L’allieva» with Alessandra Mastronardi realized by Endemol for Rai Fiction which is still being filmed now.
«Yes, it will be filmed until October so we will see it in the 2016 season. I was in just one episode playing a diver dealing with doping and family problems».
You earned your diploma at the Experimental centre of Cinematography in Rome: what was your eperience like?
«There are some who say it is useless to attend a school and those who are against it, for me it was like winning the lottery, if I hadn’t done that school and met all the people I met during those three marvellous years I would not be the actress and especially not the person that I am today».
Among the actors with whom you have worked together who taught you the most?
«Every colleague that I have had, famous, veteran or useless has taught me something. What’s important is observing and re-inventing».
In your future as an actress you would like to…
«Win an Oscar without passing first for a David di Donatello Award».
«I normally wouldn’t be a person who believes in luck but I have learned to be…».
Your favourite film?
«I am always changing my mind about this, my favourite film depends on my mood».
Your favourite director?
«The ambiguous plots of Lynch, the turmoil of Lars von Trier, the sensitivity of Xavier Dolan».
When you are happy which films do you watch?
«When I am happy I don’t watch films, I go out and have fun».
And when you are sad?
«Melancholia by Lars von Trier».
If you could go back in time which actress would you want to be?
«Not too far back in time, 20 years is enough to let me be born Kim Basinger».
How did you spend your summer?
«I worked and in August I went on holiday to Paris and Venice».
