The White House

1 Min. - tempo di lettura

Up until a short time ago, Silvia and Riccardo’s apartment was an 80’s style car showroom. Thanks to the open layout of the old building, the space was divided into the most functional and interesting way possible. The ceilings have all been lowered to diminish the height of the commercial space and the rooms are well-lit by the large windows, made from scratch and shaded by automatic awnings in aluminum.

They both love neutral colors, clean lines and practicality. They have clear ideas and from the very start, they knew how their new house should be.

The Modulnova kitchen is separated from the living room by a refined bronze glass, double-paneled Rimadesio door that is as high as the ceiling. The very white island is equipped with a stovetop and hidden electrical outlets, and is organized with large drawers and spacious cabinets. The kitchen range hood is fit right into the ceiling, synthesizing the idea of practicality and design. On the back wall the counter space has a steel double basin sink under the window and the ash cabinets which contrast it. The steel fridge becomes highlighted by its encasement in the wall, which also hides a convenient pantry.

In the living room, the fireplace is outlined by a white wooden frame like the custom-fit paneling along the lower part of the wall. The sectional sofa is of the same sandy color as the padded chairs around the Cantori dining table. This matches the low coffee table in front of the sofa and the console table at the entrance, all with glass tops.

Another bronze glass Rimadesio door separates the living area from the bedrooms. The bedroom, as in all the other rooms, is connected to the central stereo system. Here the most prominent piece is the walk-in closet, very organized and handy, thanks to the shelving and lights. In various areas of the apartment there are custom-fit shelves built-in to the walls to make the most of the space and to keep everything in order.

A NOTE TO THE CURIOUS

We aren’t sure which bathroom is more beautiful. The one in the bedroom has an extra-large shower and is framed by glass mosaic in shades of dark blue. The main bathroom in neutral colors is a real and true spa. Silvia and Riccardo lie down comfortably in the two-person bathtub with its attached cushions spending their Friday evenings facing the ceiling to gaze at their star-studded LED sky.
