2015 may have just begun, but already the musical notes that will make up this year’s soundtrack are being heard.
Prepare yourselves for a mix of past and present that will appeal to many. On the one hand, some of the all-time great albums’ anniversaries are going to be celebrated with special reissues.
It’s a chance for fans to rediscover their favourite golden oldies in a different format or with more high tech sound quality. It’s happy 20th birthday to ‘Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness’ by the Smashing Pumpkins; (a monumental work that perfectly sums up nineties rock)!
We also celebrate 30 years of ‘Rain Dogs’ by Tom Waits, (a musical genius who creatively rewrites rock, jazz, folk, blues and more); and 40 years of ‘Physical Graffiti’ by Led Zeppelin; (their back catalogue covers it all – from psychedelic blues to hard rock, folk and ethnic influences).
On the other hand, we’ll also have some highly anticipated albums from the most promising indie rock bands; such as Decemberist and Belle e Sebastian. Also expect the return of Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie and Sufjan Srevens. The rest remains to be seen!
